Ok, in order to be able to watch ANY TV channels whatsoever, I have to pay the BBC over £100 to be allowed to have something that recieves a TV signal in my home.
ITV and Channel4 have adverts in their programs as a way of generating revenue.
So let me get this straight, in order to watch a channel which uses ad’s to make money, I have to pay the BBC, who are nothing to do with ITV/CH4. I can’t even have a TV that is only tuned to non-BBC channels in my house, as that is ILLEGAL.
Can someone please explain how they worked this out to be fair?!
Now! Not only do they try and extract extortionate amounts of money from you, (this comany employed by the bbc, NOT the government as it is assumed,) they also send you nasty threatening letters, assuming you to be guilty unless you prove you don’t have a TV. This means, you have to accept that someone will turn up at your house (”any time of the day or night, on a weekday or at the weekend”) and give you a fine of £1000 unless you let them into your house to search every bit just to prove you’re not using one.
Not only is that just dodgy, but in order to get you to pay even more, any room with a lock on it (ie. if you have a lodger) that has a TV also has to be licensed. So, you’re now paying the BBC over £200 for one extra TV! I’m just astounded that they get away with it, and have for so long…
I’d much rather have ad’s on the BBC channels and not have to pay the license fee, and I’m sure I’m not the only one…
